Murray Tinkelman’s lectures are legendary from coast to coast for their educational value as well as their great good humor. He has lectured at over 125 museums, universities, colleges, and professional organizations. A tribute to his success as a lecturer is that he is frequently invited to return to these venues to present different presentations. Among the most popular lectures in Murray’s repertoire are two presentations detailing the History of American Illustration. Part 1 1850-1950 deals with the post civil war period through the 1950’s. Part 2 1950-2000 describes the transition of mainstream illustration imagery. All presentations are given with two projectors running simultaneously, and go for approximately ninety minutes, including a question and answer period with the audience.
